The Present Continuous Tense
The present continuous tense is used to express:
- An action happening at the moment of speaking.
- An action happening at the same time as another action in the present.
- An action that will take place in the near future.
Examples:
- Miss Janet is practising the piano. ○ They are talking about a football match in this afternoon.
- Anybody who looks at his passenger while he is driving a car is a danger.
- Dr. Brown is coming here next week. ○ He is leaving for London tomorrow.
Other Tenses
